He died later in a doctor's office in Niobrara to which place he was taken by Ralph High, Bloomfield merchant, who passed the scene of the accident. Gordon was alone in the car and at the top of a long hill, the tire picked up the wire spring and the car traveled about 483 feet before coming to a standstill, after striking the bank and being bounced back onto the highway in three turns. The accident occurred 13 miles east of Niobrara on Highway #12. Gordon was driving to the home of his aunt, Mrs. Fred Blankenfeld at Niobrara. His chest and ribs were crushed. Funeral services were held Wednesday afternoon at Creighton. Surviving are his wife, the former Bernice Ellington of Plainview and one brother, Howard of Chicago, Ill. Gordon's parents died when he was a small boy and he was reared by his uncle and aunt, Mr. and Mrs. George Agler at Creighton. Gordon was well known in Verdigre.
