He moved to Rapid City in 1933 and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp Estes near Nemo. Bies married Marion Runnalls July 26, 1934 in Rapid City. He moved to Rapid City in 1933 and served in the Civilian Conservation Corps at Camp Estes near Nemo. Bies married Marion Runnalls July 26, 1934 in Rapid City. He resided in Piedmont for a time, moving to Rapid City in 1941. He was employed by the Black Hill Packing Co for 345 years, retiring in January of 1975. He was a member of Rapid City Elks Lodge 1187 and the Knights of Columbus. Bies is survived by his wife, Marion of Rapid City, two sons Harold of Newell SD, and David of Rapid City, three daughters Mary ( Mrs Glenn) Brlewine and La Ray ( Mrs Thomas)Davey of Casper Wy, and Joy ( Mrs Marvin) Kammerer of Rapid City, 27 grandchildren, one brother, Philip of Gresham OR, and four sisters Magdeline Bies of Salem SD, Sister Theodore of Jefferson WI, Sister Geneveive of Hanover Mass and Bernice Hamilton of Gresham Or. He was preceded in death by one daughter. Mass of Christian burial for Lloyd G Bies, 66 of Rapid City will be said at 10 AM Saturday in ST Isaac Jogues Catholic Church by the Rev Richard Pates. Burial will be in Piedmont Cemetery under the direction of Osheim Catron Funeral Home. A rosary service is schudled for 9 PM Friday at the fuenral home. A Memorial has been established to the LIfeline Misson at Mountain Lake Minnestota.
