Description	:	Lloyd Glen Hepler was born October 13, 1883 to John and Ella (Whitmore) Hepler in Nuckolls County and lived in the Lawrence community all of his life. He was educated there and united with the Methodist Church, in which faith he lived and died, giving his Christian testimony to the end of his blidness and illness. In early life he worked for the railroad, but most of his days were spent delivering oil by wagon and later by truck. Read More	Lloyd Glen Hepler was born October 13, 1883 to John and Ella (Whitmore) Hepler in Nuckolls County and lived in the Lawrence community all of his life. He was educated there and united with the Methodist Church, in which faith he lived and died, giving his Christian testimony to the end of his blidness and illness. In early life he worked for the railroad, but most of his days were spent delivering oil by wagon and later by truck. He also has a reputation of being a fast and good grave digger when that was needed in serving the community. He married Bertha Bessie Riggins in Nelson, Nebraska on August 2, 1906. Four daughters and one son was born to this couple and all survive. They are Mrs. Henry Malpert and Mr. Jake Hepler of Nelson, Mrs. Louis (Eva) Trenary of Strang, Mrs. Anton (LaVeta) Stichka of Hastings, and Mrs. Rasmus (Ruth) Hansen of Superior. Seven grandchildren, many nieces and nephews survive. Two brothers and one sister of his own family cherish his memory. They are Mrs. Ruth Ingalls and Mrs. Roy Hepler of Loving, N.M., and Mrs. Elmer Hepler of Carlsbad, N.M. His parents, 3 sisters and 3 brothers preceded him in death. The sisters and brothers were Maud, Francis, Etta, Claude, Charlies (sic) and Marvin. Funeral services were held at the Merten-Butler Funeral Chapel Tuesday, June 20, with Rev. Maurice Holt officiating, assisted by Rev. Homer Clement of Blue Hill. Pall bearers were Louis Chvala, Elmer Menke, John G. Lemke, Vernon Buescher, Hanry (sic) Colman and Edward Svoboda. Interment was in the Lawrence Cemetery with arrangements by the Metern-Butler Funeral Chapel. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, June 22, 1967
