The daughter of Lloyd and Bertha (Riggens) Hepler, Ruth was born May 5, 1922, at Lawrence, Nebraska. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday, May 4, 2002, at Megrue-Price Funeral Home Chapel in Superior, Nebraska, with Pastor Leslie Warner officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Cemetery, Superior. Music will be "Amazing Grace", "How Great Thou Art" and "Precious Moments" with JoAnne Edwards, Nancy Bargen and Sandra Bothwell as violists and Carlita Price as organist. Pallbearers are Ronald Gruwell, Everett Lerew, Mark Godding, Glenn Edwards, Jason Stanley and Brad Howland. Megrue-Price Funeral Home of Superior is in charge of arrangements. Ruth grew up in Lawrence, attended grade school there and graduated from Lawrence High School. May 5, 1942, in the Methodist Chapel she was united to Rasmus H. Hansen. This union was blessed with two daughters. She lived in the Lawrence and Superior communities her entire life. Ruth loved her family very dearly. She has a passion for collecting cookbooks, and enjoyed cooking for family and friends. She also took great pride in her flowers, especially her favorite, the sunflower. She enjoyed feeding the birds and the many hours of enjoyment watching them. Preceding her in death were her parents; her husband, Rasmus, on July 27, 1985; two brothers, John and Jake Hepler; three sisters, Neva Malpert, Lavita Stichka and Eva Tenary. Survivors include two daughters, Patricia J. Post and her husband Jerry of Hastings, Nebraska, and Paula J. Stanley and her husband Rodney of Colorado Springs, Colorado; seven grandchildren, Mark Godding, Melissa Denoor, Michelle Ernst, Mary Carnahan, Heather Stanley-Garvey, Heidi Evans and Jason Stanley, and seven great-grandchildren.
