Peterson, 53 years old, were held here last Monday afternoon from the Methodist Church. Reverend M.E. Dorr and Swanson's were in charge of services and arrangements. Burial was made in the Dayton Cemetery. Mr. Peterson was a lifelong resident of this community, except for a short time when he lived in Minneapolis, Minn. He was killed in an automobile accident just northeast of Fort Dodge one night last week. He was riding with his employer, Mr. A.G. Barquist, local hog buyer at the time. Details of just how the accident occurred are not known but the men missed a corner on a dead end road and the car went into the ditch with such force that Mr. Peterson was thrown thru the windshield and suffered injuries that caused his death almost at once. Mr. Barquist, driver of the car, was also seriously injured and is in the Mercy Hospital in Fort Dodge. Mr. Peterson was well known in and around Dayton, having farmed for years southwest of town and for several years on the old stock farm northeast of Dayton. He lived here when his first wife, the former Rae Jacobson, passed away. Mr. Peterson moved to town and later married Miss Helga Nelson of Dayton. Besides his wife, he leaves his four daughters, Mrs. Rex Romig of California; Leverne Peterson of Texas; Mrs. Ray Brown and Mrs. Neva Meehan of Dayton. His obituary appears elsewhere in this paper. OBITUARY Lloyd Raymond Peterson Lloyd Raymond Peterson, son of Charles Albert and Mary Charlotte Peterson, was born August 1, 1894 in Dayton township. He was baptized and confirmed in the Swedish Methodist Church in Harcourt. On February 24, 1915 Mr. Peterson was united in marriage to Rae Mildred Jacobson. To this union were born four children, Ione, Leverne, Lorene and Neva. His wife, parents, and brother, Lee, preceded him in death. On March 20, 1941 he was united in marriage to Helga Nelson. Mr. Peterson resided in this community most of his life. He passed away July 8, 1948 at the age of 53 years, 11 months and eight days. He leaves to mourn his passing his wife, four daughters, Mrs. Rex D. Romig, Bellflower, California; Leverne Peterson, Temple, Texas; Mrs. Raymond L. Brown and Neva M. Meehan, Dayton, Iowa; one brother, Harold Peterson, Ogden, Iowa, and a host of other relatives and friends. Pallbearers were Walter Lindgren, Wallace Lindgren, Earl Lindgren, Raymond Rose, Harry Sandholm and Arn Stanfield.
