Description	:	Lloyd Rudolph Cook, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Bussey) Cook, was born April 15, 1910, near Cushing, Nebr. He attended school in Cushing and was active in the Methodist Church there. On June 22, 1935, he was united in marriage to Edna Bernice Oakeson. They made their first home in Belleville, Kans., where their son, Larry Lloyd, was born. Read More	Lloyd Rudolph Cook, the son of Charles and Myrtle (Bussey) Cook, was born April 15, 1910, near Cushing, Nebr. He attended school in Cushing and was active in the Methodist Church there. On June 22, 1935, he was united in marriage to Edna Bernice Oakeson. They made their first home in Belleville, Kans., where their son, Larry Lloyd, was born. The family came to Chester in 1939 where he continued his employment with Hill Oil Co. After 17 years with Hill Oil Co. he entered the Civil Service and has been employed for the last seven years as a Bucellosis technician. He joined the Methodist Church under the ministry of Rev. Peterson and has been active as an usher, member of the official board and in many other ways. Following a sudden illness he passed away in the Thayer County Memorial Hospital at Hebron on June 20, 1960, at the age of 50 years. He was preceded in death by his father and his sister, Eleanor, who died in childhood. He is survived by his wife Edna, his son, Larry, his mother, Mrs. Myrtle Cook; three brothers, Earl and Wayne of Cushing; Roland of Longmont, Colo.; two sisters, Mrs. Floyd Lucht of Grand Island, and Mrs. Donald Murray, North Highlands, Calif.; many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. Funeral service was held from the Chester Methodist Church on Thursday, June 23, at ten o'clock a.m., Rev. Duane Hutchinson in charge. Singers were Mrs. Fred Duey and Mrs. Lawrence Eickman, accompanied by Mrs. Floyd Haifleigh at the organ. Casketbearers were T.E. Boyer, Myron Carlson, Kenneth Messman, Ray Roland, W.W. Williams and Harold Crouse. Honorary casket bearers were Jack Brumbaugh, Paul Doehring, Max Gausman, Leslie Hartley, G.J. Huckins and E.G. Nesmith. Interment was made in the Chester cemetery (sic). Bachelor-Faulkner-Dart Funeral Home in charge of arrangements. ========================================= According to a great-granddaughter of Myrtle's, her maiden name was and is spelled BUCY. She goes to the large family reunions where the last name is spelled BUCY.
