Broadway, Apt. 307, Miller, died Sunday, May 11, 1997, at the Royal C. Johnson Memorial Hospital in Sioux Falls. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, May 14, at 2 p.m. at the Trinity Lutheran Church in Miller, with the Rev. Marlin R. Vetter officiating. He was born July 14, 1922, in Wessington to Fred V. and Myrtle I. Warren. He grew up in Wessington and completed his last year of high school in Miller. He then enlisted in the Army Signal Corps, in which he served in World War II in Europe and Africa. He was a carpenter in the Miller area all his working life. Lloyd was a member of the volunteer fire department in Miller, where he was the treasurer for 38 years. He is listed in the Fighters Hall of Fame in Pierre, in recognition for his service as a fire fighter in Miller. He was a life member of the VFW Post 3214 in Miller. He served as finance officer of that organization for many years. He married Lois Irene Roesler on Feb. 26, 1960, in Huron. Survivors include his wife, Lois; two sons, Todd A. (Bonnie), Sartell, Minn., Joel C. (Jane), Miller; two stepdaughters, Shirley A. (Stanley) Iverson, Cornville, Ariz., Bonnie M. (Jack) Cochran, Mesa, Ariz.; one stepson, Gary W. (Mary) Roesler, Sioux Falls; eight grandchildren and two great-grandchildren; one sister, Lois (George) Hargens, Orient; two brothers, Keith (Joyce) Warren, Clark, and Lowell (Patricia) Warren, Seattle, Wash.; a sister-in-law, Jan Warren of Huron; and several nieces and nephews.
