He was born Nov. 6, 1889, at Beloit, Wis., and moved with his family to Seattle in 1902, where he attended schools. Mr. Polley was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following discharge he married Alma DeBord in 1921 in Cashmere. They made their home at Cashmere and later with Pacific Fruit and Produce. Polley, 81, Chelan, died Thursday at the Lake Chelan Community Hospital. He was born Nov. 6, 1889, at Beloit, Wis., and moved with his family to Seattle in 1902, where he attended schools. Mr. Polley was a veteran of World War I, serving in the U.S. Marine Corps. Following discharge he married Alma DeBord in 1921 in Cashmere. They made their home at Cashmere and later with Pacific Fruit and Produce. In 1933 the family moved to Chelan, where Mr. Polley managed the Pacific Fruit and Produce plant (now known as Cascadian Fruit Shippers) at Chelan Falls. In 1939 he purchased an orchard, which he operated until selling it in 1947. For the next 20 years he was self-employed as a carpenter. He retired in 1967. Mr. Polley had been a longtime member of the Lake Chelan Loins Club and the American Legion Post No. 108. Survivors include his wife, Alma, at home; two sons, Lloyd L. and Dwayne, both of Chelan; one sister, Inez McDonald, Seattle; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters. Precht Rose Chapel, Chelan, is in charge of arrangements.
