They left immediately by motor for Iowa City [Iowa Falls]. # # # Thurs., April 11, 1929 Indianola Herald Mrs. Lois Neubauer died in the hospital at Iowa Falls yesterday evening without regaining consciousness. She was born where George Sarchett now lives Dec. 1, 1896. Her mother died when she was two and a half years old, and she then made her home with her aunt, Nannie Alexander. She was baptized in the Christian church at Spring Hill. She was married in the winter of 1915. In 1916 she moved to the home near Alden where she has since resided. Surviving her are her husband, Fritz, her father, Dan Lockridge, sister, Keithel Smith and five children, Freddie, 13, Daniel, Dale, Mary, Lyle, almost two years old. # # # Around Spring Hill – Word was received Monday of the death of Mrs. Lois Lockridge Nubower [Newubauer] at her home near Alton. Mrs. Nubower [Neubauer] was by herself at the house and in some way as so badly burned that it caused her death. Mr. and Mrs. Ray Smith and Mr Lockridge, brother and sister of Mrs Nubower [Neubauer] went to Alton on Monday morning. # # # Prole, April 15 – The remains of Mrs. Fred Neubauer, Jr., who died from fatal burns in the hospital at Iowa Falls Monday night, April 8, were brought to Prole Saturday morning and taken to the home of her sister, Mrs. Ray Smith, to await burial. Mrs. Neubauer is survived by her husband, Fred Neubauer, Jr., four sons, and one daughter, her father, Dan Lockridge, one sister, Mrs. Ray Smith. Funeral service were conducted at the Methodist church at Linn Grove Sunday at 2 p.m. Interment in Linn Grove cemetery. # # # Thurs., April 25, 1929 Indianola Herald Lois A. Lockridge was the second daughter of D.R. and Ollie Lockridge. She was born in Warren county, Iowa, in the neighborhood of Prole, Sept., 1, 1896, and passed away at Ellsworth Hospital, in Iowa Falls, Apr. 8, 1929, at the age of 32 years, 7 months, and 8 days. In June, 1914, she was baptized in the Christian church at Spring Hill. Feb. 25, 1925, she was united in marriage with Fred Neubauer and the following year they moved to a farm four miles west of Alden. She was preceded in death by her mother and one sister. She leaves to mourn, her husband, Fred Neubauer, and five children, Freddie, Daniel, Dale, Mary and Lyle, of Alden; her father, D.R. Lockridge, and sister, Mrs. Keithel Smith, of Prole, and a host of other relatives and friends. "But though the light has left us here, Like the setting of the sun, We'll trust thee ever, Father dear, And say, "Thy will be done." # # # March 4, 1915 Spring Hill - A pretty wedding occurred on last Thursday evening at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Neubauer, when Miss Lois Lockridge became the bride of Mr. Fred Neubauer, Jr. The bride was dressed in shadow lace and wore a bridal veil held in place by orange blossoms. Jennie Lockridge played the wedding march. These young people were born and reared in this community and are highly respected by all who know them. They are the recipients of many beautiful and costly presents. A host of friends wish for Mr. and Mrs. Neubauer a long, prosperous and happy life.
