Description	:	Stratford Courier September 26, 1978 Funeral services for Mrs. Dean (Lois) Wahman, 55, of Des Moines, were held at the Olivet Baptist church at 1540, 73rd Street in Des Moines Thursday, September 21. Rev. Daniel Anderson conducted the 10:00 a.m. service. Another service was held in the afternoon at the First Baptist Church in Stratford. Rev. Harold Richardson conducted the 2:30 p.m. service. Interment in Oakwood Cemetery at Stratford. Mrs. Wahman passed away about 10:00 a.m. Sunday, September 17 at Des Moines General Hospital. She had been a patient at the hospital since Wednesday, September 13. She had been in ill health for the past three years. Lois A. Siemsen, daughter of August William Siemsen and Vernice Oppedahl Siemsen, was born on February 9, 1923 at Stratford. She was raised and educated in the Stratford community where she graduated from high school. She was united in marriage on February 26, 1944 to Dean Wahman. The couple resided at Webster City where she was employed for 13 years at the Hamilton County Hospital. In October of 1971, the couple moved to Des Moines where Mrs. Wahman worked for Vitamor, Inc. and later at the Wonder Life Corporation. Mrs. Wahman was a member of the Olivet Baptist Church in Des Moines and a former member of the First Baptist Church in Stratford where she taught Sunday School for several years. She was also a member of the Sowers Club, associated with Wonder Life Corporation. The family has suggested memorial contributions be made to Olivet Baptist Church in Des Moines or to First Baptist Church in Stratford. Survivors include her husband, Dean Wahman; two daughters, Mrs. Craig (Dianne) Jones of Des Moines and Mrs. Bruce (Ann) Bervin of Story City; two sons, Gregg of Des Moines and Garry of Altoona; nine grandchildren and her mother, Mrs. August Siemsen of Stratford.
