Description	:	Lois D. Peterson, 90, of Stratford, Iowa passed away at her daughter’s farm home early Thursday morning, August 4, 2016. She was born on July 17, 1926 in Yell Township in Webster County, Iowa the daughter of Bill and Lizzie (Richey) Conklin. On May 14, 1945, she married Weldon E. Peterson at the First Baptist Church in Webster City, Iowa. Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching and doing embroidering. She was born on July 17, 1926 in Yell Township in Webster County, Iowa the daughter of Bill and Lizzie (Richey) Conklin. On May 14, 1945, she married Weldon E. Peterson at the First Baptist Church in Webster City, Iowa. Lois was a homemaker and enjoyed cross stitching and doing embroidering. After moving into town in 1980, Lois did child care and volunteered at the Congregate Meals. She was a member of the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford. Her parents; husband Weldon in June of 1980; son Brett in August of 1989; three brothers Orville Conklin, Jim Conklin and Robert Conklin; and one sister Ella Jones preceded her in death. Survivors include her daughter Trudy Peterson of Stratford, Iowa; a granddaughter Jessica Young of Stratford, Iowa; a grandson Casey Young and Brooke Hagen of Grimes, Iowa; a great-grandchild Kyler Hagen and awaiting the birth of another great-grandchild; many nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday morning, August 9th at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford with Pastor Brian McNamara officiating. Interment will be in the South Marion Cemetery southeast of Stratford. Friends may call at the Calvary United Methodist Church in Stratford on Monday evening from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. with the family present during that time to greet friends. Viewing will continue at the Church on Tuesday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service. In memory of Lois, memorials may be directed to family to be distributed to charities to be selected at a later date.
