Memorial service was Monday, January 4, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church. Burial followed at G.A.R. Cemetery, Miller. Read More	Lois Irene Christiansen, 87, of Miller, passed away Wednesday, December 30, 2015 at the Avera Hand County Memorial Hospital in Miller. Lois Irene Jenner was born February 24, 1928 in Hand County to Arthur and Gladys (Fischer) Jenner. She grew up north of St. Lawrence and was educated at the St. Lawrence School, graduating in 1946. Lois married Robert J. Pugh on June 30, 1947. They lived on the Pugh home farm south of Miller where they raised five children: Jay, Gene, Kenn, Ann, and Don. Besides farming, they ran Pugh Bros. Fertilizer and were dealers for Artic Cat snowmobiles, Silver Line boats, and Mercury motors. Lois also did custom sewing. After Roberts death in 1976, Lois went to work as a bookkeeper for Stobbs Sales. She married John Christiansen on August 9, 1980 and they made their home in St. Lawrence. In 2006, they moved to the Plaza in Miller. In April of 2015, Lois moved into the Courtyard Villa in Miller. Lois was a very talented seamstress and won many awards for her sewing over the years. She also crocheted, knitted, and was an avid quilter, donating many of her quilts to various causes. She was a cancer survivor and served as chair of the Miller Relay for Life. She loved to play games and would never pass up a chance to play dominoes or bingo. Lois is survived by her two sons: Jay Pugh and Don (Diane) Pugh, both of Miller; daughter, Ann (Tom) Meyer of Spring Branch, TX; four step-sons: Tom, Jim, Joel, and Dale Christiansen; two stepdaughters: Marie Trowbridge and Ruth Lindgren; sister-in-law, Virginia Jenner of Miller; three grandsons; one granddaughter; ten great grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Robert and John; two sons, Gene and Kenn; her parents; two brothers, Irving and Merlin Jenner; and one sister-in-law, Shirley Jenner.
