He was born in Miller, May 15, 1922, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Pugh. He attended grade school in the rural schools, and graduated from Miller high school in 1941. Following graduation he enlisted in the Army Air corps, serving in the European Theatre as a pilot of a B-17 and was discharged with the rank of lieutenant. He was an inactive member of the Reserves, where he advanced to the rank of captain. Married Lois Jenner, on June 30, 1947. They were the parents of five children. Surviving his death are his widow, one daughter, Ann, a senior in the Miller high school, and three sons, Jay and Don, at home, and Kenn, a student at the University of South Dakota; and three brothers, Melvin, Charles and John, all of Miller.
