Description	:	The funeral for Lois Broekemeier, 68, of Howells will be 10:30 a.m. Thursday at Zion-St. John Lutheran Church in rural Wisner. She died Monday, April 2, 2007, at St. Francis Memorial Hospital in West Point. She was born Dec. 3, 1938, to Harvey and Eloise (Hilkemeier) Poppe in Knox County. She graduated from Center High School in Center. She married Vernon Held on Dec. 27, 1958, who died March 24, 1974. She lived most of her life in northeast Nebraska. Survivors include: her husband, Wayne; her mother, Eloise; four sons, Greg (and wife, Joy) of Omaha, Les (and wife, Janice) of Sacramento, Calif., Jay (and wife, Jeni) of Garretson, S.D., and Scott of Sioux Falls, S.D.; stepchildren, Jean Mauer (and husband, Gene) of Norfolk, Gayle Broekemeier (and wife, Jane) of Wisner, Marlon Broekemeier (and wife, Susan) of Norfolk and Brian Broekemeier of Omaha; a brother, Lyle Poppe of Graham, Wash.; 17 grandchildren and a great-granddaughter. She also was preceded in death by a son, a daughter, a brother and two infant grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3-8 p.m. today at Kuzelka-Minnick Funeral Home in Wisner with family present from 5-8 p.m. Visitation will continue from 9 a.m. to service time Thursday at the church.
