Description	:	Mrs. Lois Thayer Snyder, a former Nuckolls county (sic) resident, was killed instantly when a train hit her car near Roscoe Thursday, July 11. Mrs. Snyder was born and raised in Nuckolls county (sic) and was graduated from Ruskin high school. She taught for two years in this county before her marriage. She was a daughter of Lovell Thayer, and a sister of Marvin Thayer, Mrs. Earl Corman, Mrs. Jerome Kohl, Loren Thayer and Mrs. Ivan Troudt, all of Nuckolls county (sic). Funeral services were held at Grant July 15 and burial was there. -- Superior Express. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, July 25, 1957 Lois Pearl Thayer, daughter of Lovell and Alma Thayer of Nora, was born Aug. 18, 1905 and died July 11, 1957 near Roscoe, Nebr., at the age of 51 years, 10 months and 23 days. She was graduated from Ruskin high school in 1923 and taught in rural schools in Nuckolls and Perkins counties. In 1928 Lois was joined in marriage with Faye M. Snyder. They made their home on a farm near Grant, later moving into Grant. Three children came to bless their home. In 1950 the family moved to Curtis, Nebr., and only recently they moved back to Grant. Lois was united with the church at Ruskin when a girl and had her membership in the Grant and Curtis churches respectively. She was a member of the Rebekah lodge. She was preceded in death by her mother. She leaves to mourn her passing, her husband, sons, Daryl of Hastings and Gary of the home, and Sharon Harr of Midland, Tex., daughter-in-law, Eloise, and son-in-law Neal, two granddaughters, Cynthia and Sharon Harr, her father, Lovell of Nora, brothers, Marvin of Nora and Loren of Superior, sisters Genevieve Kohl of Hardy, Dorothy Corman of Superior and Fern Troudt of Nelson, and a host of other relatives and friends. Services were held at Grant in the Methodist church (sic) Sunday, July 14. Rev. Donald E. Springer officiating. Interment was made in the Fairview cemetery (sic) at Grant.
