Description	:	Restaurant operator, Mr. Lonnie Mulligan, 70, died of a heart attack Wednesday evening at the Corning hospital where he had been considered improving since hospitalization ten days before. Only Tuesday he had announced the sale of his cafe here, which he owned and operated for the past twenty years. Funeral services were held Saturday, February 15, at 2 p.m. from the Wolfe Funeral Home with the Rev. E. T. Bodwell officiating. Casket bearers were Jack Wright, Yale Wright, Russell Slack, Orville Marsh, Walter Kendrick, Jerry Greenfield, Raymond Eitzen, and Glen Doan. Interment was in Villisca Cemetery. Lonnie Milton Milligan, son of James and Anna Milligan, was born in Taylor County, Iowa, August 25, 1893 and passed away in Corning, Iowa February 12, 1964. On September 9, 1915, he was married to Faye Jennie Van Alstine, in Corning, Iowa. To them were born three children, Treva Marie, Harry James, and Betty Alice. Preceding him in death were Betty Alice who died in infancy and a brother Logan. Surviving are his wife, Faye, her mother, Nell Van Austin; daughter Treva of Chicago, Illinois; son James and wife Opal, and a brother Harvey of Villisca; a sister Susie Belote of Forth Worth, Texas; one granddaughter, Beverly Lindell and two great grandchildren, Robin and Jeffrey Lindell of Lincoln, Nebraska, and nieces and nephews and many friends. Mr. Milligan spent his entire life in or around Villisca and was engaged informing and operated a restaurant. He was a member of the Guss Methodist Church and the Odd Fellows Lodge.
