Lonzie was born in Baker County, Florida on November 16, 1930, to Admiral Dewey Altman and Carrie Williams Altman. Lonzie was a lifelong resident of Baker County and was a member of Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church. He was an entrepreneur at heart, he owned and operated Columbia Saw Company and Altman's Grocery. Lonzie enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, fishing, farming, and growing watermelons. Most of all he loved spending time with his children and grandchildren. Lonzie was preceded in death by his parents; loving wife of 69 years, Yvonne "Bonnie" Mobley; son, Jesse Dean Altman; siblings, Hubert Altman, J.B. Altman, Morris Altman, Willie Mae Raulerson, Mallaveene Crawford, and Phylis Upchurch. Lonzie is survived by his children, Hope (Jeff) Bryant, Anthony (Tinker) Altman, Pam (Richard) Fish, Brian (Debra) Altman, Lisa (Jesse) Stewart; siblings, Albert Dewey (Laverne) Altman, Wilbert (Evelyn) Altman, George Ray (Billie) Altman, Margaret Altman, Peggy (Bill) Keves, Pearlie Taylor and Linda Sue Tyre; grandchildren, Yvonne (David) McGee, Marie (Stephen) South, Laura (Patrick) Fuller, Ida (Donny) Holem, Sherri (Junior) Henley, Jessica (Anthony) Otto, Tiffany (Drew) Norman, Dean Johns (April Thomas); great-grandchildren, Andrew Thames, Sierra McGee, Cheyenne McGee, Abigail Henley, Aidan Henley, Conner South, Caleb South, Luke Fuller, Anna Brook Fuller, Sarah Belle Fuller, Paul Fuller, Dawson Norman, Chloe Norman, Kaylynn Johns, Brayden Johns, RT Holem, and JD Holem. A Celebration of Lonzie's life will be held on Wednesday, June 9, 2021, at 1:00 p.m. at North Prong Primitive Baptist Church (Mount Zion Primitive Baptist Church) in Taylor, Florida with Pastor Richard Fish officiating. Interment will follow at North Prong Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Tuesday, June 8, 2021, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Arrangements are under the care and direction of V.
