She was born on October 20, 1917 to Claude L. and Millie (Shepherd) Taylor at Gosper, Nebraska. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska where she was a faithful member for more than 75 years. Lora was the last of seven children. Lora graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1936 and married Van H. Horton on October 15, 1936 in North Platte, Nebraska. They were married for 60 years. She was born on October 20, 1917 to Claude L. and Millie (Shepherd) Taylor at Gosper, Nebraska. She was baptized in the First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska where she was a faithful member for more than 75 years. Lora was the last of seven children. Lora graduated from Arapahoe High School in 1936 and married Van H. Horton on October 15, 1936 in North Platte, Nebraska. They were married for 60 years. Van and Lora raised four children consisting of two sons, Dan Henry and Jerry Dale; and two daughters, Sunny Ann and Colleen Renee. Lora was preceded in death by her parents, husband, daughter Sunny Ann, two brothers, Marvin and Clayton Taylor, four sisters, Ethel Steinbrink, Eva Jameson, Nora Shaw, and Meredith Taylor. She is survived by two sons, Dan and wife Verna Raye Horton of McCook, Nebraska, Jerry Horton of Arapahoe, Nebraska; daughter, Colleen and husband Lyle Weber of Arapahoe, Nebraska; eight grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. Funeral services were held on Saturday, April 10, 2004 at 10:30 a.m. at First United Methodist Church in Arapahoe, Nebraska with Pastor Hyeongdong Baek officiating. Active bearers were Paul Horton, Tim Hamill, Elden Stein-brink, Rex Steinbrink, Cole Taylor and James Taylor. Honorary bearers were Roland Emmett, Morris Ems, Bob How-ey, John Koller, Lloyd Steinbrink, and Bill Swanson. Interment was in the Arapahoe Cemetery with Wenburg Funeral Home of Arapahoe in charge of arrangements.
