Description	:	Lorena Nancy (Browning) Dinnel, oldest daughter of Charley and Nettie (Draper) Browning, pioneers of Chase County, was born on Feb. 5, 1897 on a homestead 12 miles northwest of Imperial, or about four miles southwest of where Chase used to be. Read More	Lorena Nancy (Browning) Dinnel, oldest daughter of Charley and Nettie (Draper) Browning, pioneers of Chase County, was born on Feb. 5, 1897 on a homestead 12 miles northwest of Imperial, or about four miles southwest of where Chase used to be. The family lived here until 1911, then moved to a farm near Burlington, Colo. In 1912 they moved back to Nebraska near Madrid. Then in 1915 they moved to a farm three miles east of Enders, and later to the town of Enders. Rena received her education in rural schools of Chase County and high school in Grant and Imperial. She taught rural schools north of Imperial, Morning Star, north of Wauneta and District No. 4 near Lamar. On June 9, 1920 she was married to Earl Dinnel at Sterling, Colo. They made their new home in McCook for two years where Earl was employed by the CB&Q railroad. In 1922 they moved three miles east of Enders on a farm and later one-half mile south on a school section where one daughter and two sons were born. In 1930 they moved to the farm where Duane Dinnel now resides. It was there that they raised their family and Basil and Verlon attended Dist. No. 1 Pioneer school. They lived there until Earl's passing in 1973. She then lived in Imperial at her home until failing health required her to live in the Imperial Manor for the last 2 1/2 years. Some of the highlights of her life included the celebration of their 50th wedding anniversary in 1970, and her dedication to her God and church. She served many years as Sunday School Superintendent and teacher, Missionary president, Young People's Leader, local church board member and WCTU president, considering these the best way to serve God, her family and the community. Those preceding her in death were her husband Earl; an infant daughter; her parents, Charles and Nettie Browning; three brothers, Ivan, Delmer and Lowell; and one sister, Elsie. Services for Dinnel were held Dec.11, 1985 at the Wesleyan Church in Imperial. Interment was at the Mount Hope Cemetery in Imperial with Creveling Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.
