Description	:	Lorene K. Koch, 89, of Beatrice, Nebraska, formerly of Clatonia, passed away at the Homestead House in Beatrice Tuesday morning, November 3, 2009. She was born on January 15, 1920 at R. Pickrell, Nebraska, the daughter of John and Sophie (Schuerman) Obering. She was a graduate of Beatrice High School. Lorene and Delbert Koch were married on June 1, 1939 at the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church, rural DeWitt, Nebraska. They farmed together on a farm southwest of Clatonia from 1939 until 1976. She later lived at Clatonia from 1978 until she moved to Beatrice in July of 2008.... Read More	Lorene K. Lorene and Delbert Koch were married on June 1, 1939 at the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church, rural DeWitt, Nebraska. They farmed together on a farm southwest of Clatonia from 1939 until 1976. She later lived at Clatonia from 1978 until she moved to Beatrice in July of 2008. She was a member of the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church, rural DeWitt, and had been a member of the Willing Workers Circle and the Kitchen Band. Lorene enjoyed quilting, playing cards, ceramics, baking, and gardening. Survivors include: sons, Gaylan Koch and wife Marilyn, Bruce Koch and wife Liz, Loren Koch and Roger Koch and wife Debbie; daughter, Corlyce Barth and husband Michael; 8 grandchildren; 11 great grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Alta Zikmund. She was preceded in death by: her parents, John and Sophie (Schuerman) Obering; husband, Delbert Koch (1976); and brothers, Orvin Obering and Arthur Obering and wife Alice. Funeral services on Friday, November 6, 2009 at the St. Paul's Lutheran (Soap Creek) Church. Interment in the church cemetery. Obituary information from Griffiths Hovendick Chapel.
