Sympathy notes may be left for the Cerny family at www.lewisfuneralhomes.com. Lorene Mae Sojka was born May 4, 1919 in Washington County to Charles and Rose (Knotek) Sojka. She graduated from Washington High School in Washington, Iowa. She married LeRoy Cerny on February 1, 1940 at the Little Brown Church in Nashua, Iowa. She and LeRoy farmed for many years north of Lone Tree. She was a member of the Lone Tree American Legion Auxiliary. Lorene will be missed by her son, Ronald Cerny and his wife, Lavina, of Lone Tree; three step grandchildren; a step great grandson; one brother, Dale Sojka of Riverside; one sister Betty Stewart and her husband, Gene, of Ainsworth; sister-in-law, Anita Sojka, of Kalona and brother-in-law, Paul Beenblossum, of Washington. Lorene was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LeRoy in 1983, two brothers, Harold and Vince Sojka, and three sisters, Dorothy Wollrab, Marie Kleopher, and LuElla Beenblossum.
