Read More	Loretta Catherine Eich On August 28 the entire community was shocked to learn of the sudden death of a dear young lady, Loretta, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Chas. Eich, who died in the bloom of her youth, at the age of 16. She had been in perfect health up to a few months ago when she was taken sick with a goitre. After medical aid failed to give her relief, it was deemed necessary to have an operation performed. On Thursday morning she was taken to St. Catherine's hospital, Omaha, where on the same day the operation was performed, but the effects of the operation proved too much for Loretta, and she died without regaining consciousness. The remains were brought home the following evening. A large number of relatives and friends had gathered at the depot awaiting the remains which were escorted to the home of her parents. Funeral services were held Monday, Sept. 1, at St. Augustine's church, conducted by Rev. B. Schilmoeller. The remains were laid to rest in the Catholic cemetery. Preceding the casket were three girls, Lillian Schmitz, Cecelia Wagner and Dorothy Schenkelberg, dressed in white carrying flowers arranged in the symbols of faith hope and charity. Honorary pallbearers were Gertrude Schenkelberg, Mary Buelt, Mary Testroet, Arley Heider, Marie Bayer and Emma Eickman, classmates of the deceased. Florence Mescher carried the cross. Active pallbearers were Aloysius Eicheid, George Vogl, Peter Potthof, Joseph Testroet, Ben Schenkelberg and Walter Westendorf. The Young Ladies' sodality of which she was a member, attended in a body. Loretta was born March 4, 1908. She leaves to mourn her sorrowing parents, two brothers and five sisters, her aged grandmother, and a large number of relatives and friends. Loretta was love by every one who knew her and will be greatly missed by all. The entire community sympathizes with the parents in this their hour of deepest sorrow. May she rest in peace.
