Casket bearers will be Anthony Eich, Nathan Eich, Scott Beckman, Corey Beckman, Ronald March Jr., Kimberly Neuman, Andrea Kirkpatrick, Larry Parks and Adam Teel. Burial will be in St. Augustine Cemetery in Halbur. Visitation starts at 2:30 p.m., rosaries will be prayed at 3 and 8 p.m. and a vigil will be held at p.m. Thursday at Twit Funeral Home in Carroll. Memorial contributions can be made to St. Augustine Parish in Halbur or the Alzheimer's Association. A son of Charles and Anna (Reinart) Eich, he was born March 24, 1919, at Halbur and was educated at St. Augustine Catholic School there. Mr. Eich served in the Navy during World War II and was stationed in Brazil. He and Thelma F. Throop were married July 2, 1947, at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church in Carroll with the Rev. Lambert Schenkelberg officiating. Mr. Eich worked for Moorman's Feed Co. for 20 years. He served on the Halbur City Council and also worked for the City of Halbur, He enjoyed gardening and playing cards, and he belonged to St. Augustine parish, the Arcadia American Legion and the Iowa American Legion. Survivors include two daughters: Susan March of Tampa, Fla., and Sharon Beckman and her husband, John, of Council Bluffs; three sons: Steve Eich of Tampa, Charles Eich of Whiting and Kevin Eich of Omaha, Neb.; seven grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and six sisters: Sister Ricarda OSF of Dubuque, Evelyn Langel of Templeton, Lucy Irlmeier of Manning, Sally Schenkelberg of Carroll, Kay Loughran of Breda and Mildred Sporrer of Manning. Mr. Eich was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Thelma, in 1977; a son-in-law, Ronald March; two brothers: Alvin and Herbert Eich; and three sisters: Anna Eich in infancy, Loretta Eich and Helen Eischeid.
