Gordon Scott officiating. Internment was at the Nodaway Cemetery in Nodaway. Lorine Helen Knudson, the daughter of Henry and Katie (Scheierman) Sterkel, was born April 19, 1914 in Clay County, NE. She died suddenly on Wednesday, May 4, 2005, at the NE Medical Center in Omaha, NE. Lorine was raised in Clay County, NE. She was united in marriage to Raymond Knudson on April 5, 1936, at Bellevue, KS. They moved to Nodaway, IA in 1940. Lorine and Raymond moved to Red Oak in l979. She was a member of the Nodaway United Methodist Church at Nodaway, IA, and the Order of Eastern Star. Lorine helped her son at Ingmand Small Animal Hospital for 20 years, showing her love of dogs and pets. She was preceded in death by her parents; infant daughter, Cheryl Wray Knudson; and three sisters, Viola Swanson, Claretta Garrison and Vesta Gerdes. Lorine is survived by her husband, Raymond Knudson of Red Oak, IA; three sons, Dr. Merlyn D. Knudson of Red Oak, IA, Lowell W. Knudson and his wife Nancy of Springfield, MO, and Jerry L. Knudson and his wife Diane of Las Cruces, NM; five grandchildren: Todd Knudson of Lincoln, NE, Tracy Tvrdy of Lincoln, NE, Scott Knudson of Salt Lake City, UT, Mike Knudson of Harrison, AK, Keely Knudson of Springfield, MO; three great-grandchildren; brother, Robert Sterkel of Sutton, NE; other relatives and many friends.
