Such was the brief message left Sunday morning by Camille Paumie, proprietor of the Parisian Dye Works, in explanation of his suicide by shooting. When Mrs. Paumie awoke Sunday morning she went to her husband's apartments, and found him dead in his bed. A gaping wound over the heart and shotgun lying alongside the bed told the story of how the unfortunate man met his death. When a soldier in the service of France, Paumie contracted a disease from which he never recovered. Recently he began taking morphine to relieve his pain and this habit had become chronic. It is thought the rash deed which ended his life was committed while under the influence of the drug. The funeral occurred today and was largely attended, the deceased having many friends in the city. Submitted by Cara March 29, 2017
