Louis served in the United States Navy in the south Pacific during World War II. He served aboard the USS Lovering DE39 and later the battleship USS Alabama. He is survived by his five sons, Dr. Louis G. Forster, Jr. and wife Sharon of Wichita, Robert Forster and wife Claire of Topeka, Dean Forster and wife Judy of Topeka, Rodney Forster and wife Debbie of Elliston, Virginia and Randey Forster of Wakarusa; twin brother, Joseph G. Forster of Atchison and brother, Charles N. Forster of Holton; 15 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild and his faithful little dog Mindy. Graveside services will be held at 10:30 am Penwell-Gabel Cemetery, Thursday, July 22, 2010. Mr. Forster will lie in state at Davidson Funeral Home from 9-5 on Wednesday.
