Musser, officiating. ~~~~~~~ The Miller Press, Miller, Hand County, South Dakota, Thursday, February 20, 1908, Twenty Seventh Year #11, p1c3 AGED COUPLE UNITED IN DEATH Mrs. David Walton Follows Husband In Less Than Two Weeks (nice picture) On the fourth of February, Mr. David Walton, of north Hand county, was suddenly called to his last account, dying of heart failure, brought on by a long drive in the cold, and now, less than two weeks later, his aged wife goes to join him on that shore from which no traveler returns. Mrs. Walton died Sunday evening at her home after a lingering illness. She was about 85 years of age, and leaves a very large family to mourn her death. Uncle David Walton and wife were well know pioneers of Hand county, both because of their long residence here, and because of their numerous descendents scattered throughout the county, the latter numbering over 165. Mrs. Walton's funeral was conducted Tuesday at 3 P.M. in the Presbyterian church by Rev. Walton was born in Durant, Cedar, Iowa on 10 Mar 1858; married Harriet Leota "Hattie" Carl in about 1884 and produced seven children; David died on 9 Nov 1928 and Hattie on 14 Jun 1931, both in Corvallis, Benton, Oregon.
