Description	:	MRS. CHAS BOSTIAF Louisa Eichhorn was born in Bavaria, Germany, January 4, 1840. At the age of 12 years she came with her parents to this country and settled in Philadelphia where she grew to womanhood On June 19, 1858, she was united in marriage to Mr. Geo. Mesch and resided with her husband in Philadelphia for a number of years. During this time three children were born to them, a son and two daughters. CHAS BOSTIAF Louisa Eichhorn was born in Bavaria, Germany, January 4, 1840. At the age of 12 years she came with her parents to this country and settled in Philadelphia where she grew to womanhood On June 19, 1858, she was united in marriage to Mr. Geo. Mesch and resided with her husband in Philadelphia for a number of years. During this time three children were born to them, a son and two daughters. Bur soon the family was saddened by the loss of their father and husband, who died on December 28, 1869. Again she was united in marriage in 1873 to Mr. Charles Bastian. From Johnson County, the family moved to Plymouth County, Iowa, where they lived until the year 1887 Since then the deceased has made her home with her daughter, Mrs. Anna Schmoll of Hartley, Iowa. Of the eight children, one son and two daughters have receded the mother to the better land, leaving five children to mourn her departure. Grandma Bastian was taken sick in the fall of 1911 and had steadily grown weaker from day to day. Her sickness proved to be cancer of the liver. Since last October she has not been able to be up and after much suffering she finally passed away, Saturday evening, May 9, 1914, reaching the ripe age of 74 years, 4 months and 5 days. Her daughter, Mrs. Schmoll has been her constant nurse during all her days of sickness and suffering and every possible wish the mother had was granted her. May God bless her for all her good deeds. Mrs. Bastian was laid to rest in Harrison Township Cemetery, May 12, 1914. The services were conducted by Rev. Fischer. The Hartley Journal, Hartley, Iowa, Thursday, May 14th, 1914 page 1
