Description	:	John Mesch was born at West Branch, Iowa, the 16th day of June, 1868. In the year 1892 he was united in holy wedlock to Pearl Bayne. To this union was born 6 children, one dying in infancy. Another son, William Mesch, passed away on Sept. 22, 1941. For quite a number of years the deceased has made his home with his children. His last month of his life was spent in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Adolf. For nearly a year he had been experiencing more or less trouble with his foot. He was taken to the... Read More	John Mesch was born at West Branch, Iowa, the 16th day of June, 1868. In the year 1892 he was united in holy wedlock to Pearl Bayne. To this union was born 6 children, one dying in infancy. Another son, William Mesch, passed away on Sept. 22, 1941. For quite a number of years the deceased has made his home with his children. His last month of his life was spent in the home of his daughter, Mrs. Walter Adolf. For nearly a year he had been experiencing more or less trouble with his foot. He was taken to the Hand hospital in Hartley on June 7, where an operation far the amputation of the foot was performed the following day, Little hope was held for his recovery from the beginning and after days and weeks of much pain and suffering he passed a way early in the morning of Friday, June 26. He reached the age of 74 years and 10 days. He leaves to mourn his departure his three sons, Arvin and Otto Mesch of Collins, New York and Floyd Mesch of Stanton, Nebr., one daughter, Mrs. Celestia Adolf of Hartley, one brother, Otto Bastian of Porterville, California, 27 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Funeral services were held on Sunday afternoon by Rev. C. Boye, at Foley's Funeral Home and at the May City Lutheran church. Burial was made in the Harrison Township Cemetery.
