She grew to womanhood in this community and on February 16, 1881, she was married to Joseph Jenkins, who lived in the same locality. Read More	[Thank you, Peggy Bargen Duey #46873059, for the added information] Louisa Jane Harris was born near Falls City, in Richardson County, Nebraska, November 6, 1865, and departed this life at her home May 8, 1948, at the age of 82 years, 6 months and 2 days. She grew to womanhood in this community and on February 16, 1881, she was married to Joseph Jenkins, who lived in the same locality. They continued to live here until March 1886, when they moved to Republic County, Kansas, four mile southeast of Chester, Nebraska. Mr. and Mrs. Jenkins lived on this farm for forty years, where they raised their family of five girls and three boys all of whom are living. In April 1926 they moved to Chester, Nebraska, which has since been her home. Her husband preceeded her in death in June 1933, nearly fifteen years ago. She was a loving mother, not only to her own family but to many neighbors and friends. In her younger days when sickness or sorrow came to the cammunity (sic), she would gladly go and assist in any possible, no matter how long the road or stormy the day or night, thus serving others her own life was brightened with the rays of happiness which she brought into the lives of others. She was a very patient and cheerful sufferer and for seven weeks her children have been by her continuously and did all that loving hands could do. She was a member of the Chester Methodist Church and her life was that of a true Christian. She leaves to mourn her departure her eight children - Mrs. Bertie Randels of Fort Morgan, Colo., Mrs. Lizzie Bentz, Salt Lake City, Utah; Mrs. Mabel Bise, of Ruskin, Nebr.; Mrs. Alice George of Republic, Kansas; Mrs. Carrie Dettman, Narka, Kansas; Charles Jenkins Portland, Ore., and Francis and Roy Jenkins of Chester, Nebraska, also twenty-one grandchildren, thirty eight great grand children, one aged sister and a host of other relatives and friends. Funeral services were held Tuesday, May 11, at 2:00 p.m. with the Rev. C.M. Foust in charge. Interment was made in the Chester Cemetery.
