Harris Jenkins was born on May 26, 1884, at Verdon, Nebraska, and passed away on April 21, 1980, at the Valley View Villa, at Fort Morgan, Colorado, at the age of 95 years, 10 months and 25 days. She was untied (sic) in marriage to Frederick Allen Randels on March 20, 1905 and to this union two sons and seven daughters were born. They lived on farms near Chester, Nebraska until 1921, when they moved to a farm near Brush, Colorado, where the Pawnee Power Plant is now located. ... She was a member of her Neighborhood Club, the VFW Auxiliary No. 2551, Spanish-American War Veterans Auxiliary and the Brethren Church. She was well known for her beautiful quilts. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Frederick, 2 infant daughters and 1 son, David in 1947, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Mrs. Randels is survived by one son, Allen J. Randels of Fort Morgan, Colorado, five daughters, Mrs. Lillian Hauge and Mrs. Bertha May Williams, both of Fort Morgan, Colorado, Mrs. Alice Whited of Commerce City, Colorado, Mrs. Cecel Larson of Del Ray Beach, Florida, Mrs. Eleanor Williams of Wheatland, Indiana, and one sister, Mrs. Carrie Dettman of Narka, Kansas, 22 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, 17 great-great grandchildren, several other relatives and a host of friends. Funeral services were held Thursday, April 24, 1980 at the Jolliffe Chapel at Fort Morgan, Colorado, at 9:00 a.m., conducted by the Reverend Allen Unger. Graveside services were held at the Chester Cemetery, Chester, Nebraska, on Friday, April 25, 1980, at 10:00 a.m., conducted by Reverend Douglas Ferguson. Interment was in Chester Cemetery.
