Louisa snd Lewis had seven children: Emma (1854-1944), William H (1856-?), Walter C (1860-1883), Victoria M (1863-?), Alfred J (1868-1893), Arthur Lewis (1875-1954), and Clarence Ernest (1877-1959) The Genoa Times, Genoa, Nance County, Nebraska, January 14, 1916, Page 8 Another Old Settler Passes Away Last Saturday evening, January 8, 1916, Mrs. Louisa Little answered the final summons after an illness of several days with the grippe which developed into pneumonia a few hours before death. Mrs. Little was born in Elgin, Ill. She was the first white child born on the site where a flourishing manufacturing city now stands, and was 79 years, 8 months and 5 days old. She as united in marriage to Lewis Little at her home town in 1853, and they made Elgin their home until 1878, when they came to Nebraska. Mr. Little filed a soldier's homestead right on a quarter section six miles northeast of Genoa in Platte County. After a residence there of five years the family moved to Genoa. Later they moved to a tract of land in Platte County which Mr. Little had taken as a timber claim. Mr. Little's health failing, they returned to Genoa. Mrs. Little is survived by four children - Will, Click, Arthur and Mrs. Emma Smith, all resedents of Genoa. The funeral was held at the Little home Monday afternoon, and the remains interred in Valley View Cemetery by the side of Mr. Little who died nearly two years ago. Mrs. Little was a sincere Christian woman, and the world is better for her having lived in it.
