Mrs. Garrett was born on May 8, 1920, in Rockbridge County and was a daughter of the late John Charlton Donald and Elizabeth Johnson Donald. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington and was retired from Kennametal. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Garrett; and one brother, John C. Donald. Read More	Louise May Donald Garrett, 83, of Lexington, died Monday, September 22, 2003, in the Heritage Hall Nursing Home. Mrs. Garrett was born on May 8, 1920, in Rockbridge County and was a daughter of the late John Charlton Donald and Elizabeth Johnson Donald. She was a member of the Trinity United Methodist Church in Lexington and was retired from Kennametal. She was preceded in death by her husband, James Wallace Garrett; and one brother, John C. Donald. Mrs. Garrett is survived by two daughters, Carolyn G. Manspile and husband, Aubrey, of Lexington, Rebecca G. Wheeler and husband, James, of Salem; one sister, Ruth McElroy and husband, James, of Buena Vista; one brother, Bill Donald of Salem; brother-in-law, Ollie Garrett and wife, Ann, of Lexington; sister-in-law, Betty Garrett of Farmville; five grandchildren, Randy Manspile, Donna Straub, Pam Myers, Bryan Wheeler, Michael Wheeler; four great-grandchildren, Ellie, Ben, Anne, Randal, Ian; and numerous nieces and nephews and a special roommate, Charlene Heizer. Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, September 24, 2003, at the Harrison Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Calvin Griffin officiating. Burial will follow in the Green Hill Cemetery in Buena Vista. The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Rockbridge Area Hospice or Heritage Hall Activities Fund.
