Mrs. Alois Vender who had been a patient sufferer from an incurable affliction of cancer, gladly lay down life's burden and commended her soul to her Creator. For months the tenderest, most loving care of husband, daughters, sons, and friends had been exerted to render easier the life of the beloved mother. Tearful eyes were averted to cheer her who had so long and faithfully labored for those whom she loved, with a devotion that comes only from the heart of the wife and mother. Louisa Reiser was born near Wheaton, Illinois, October 15, 1845. There she was reared and spent her youth, becoming the wife of Alois Yender 38 years ago. They came to Carroll county Iowa as some of the pioneers of 1871, settling in Sheridan township where they resided until coming to this city six years ago. Departed is survived by her by her husband and seven children as follows: Ida, Mrs. Henry Schlink, and Emma, Mrs. Michael Heim, Auburn, Iowa; Joe Yender and Clara, Mrs. V. Schirk Jr., Halbur Iowa; Frank Yender of Sheridan township; Rosa, Mrs. Wm Krueger and Miss Marie Yender of this city. There also survive her two brothers Frank Rieser of Hampshire, Illinois and George Reiser of Wheaton. At 9:30 o'clock Monday the solemn requiem High Mass was offered up at S.S. Peter and Paul's Church. Joined with that sublime appeal rose the voices of the ladies sodality and the chant of the choir, the links that unite the visible congregation to the great unseen community. The services at the church over, an immense throng followed the remains to the last resting place, "God's acre", there to repeat with the priest the "Memento home quia pulvisest", where all that was mortal was consigned to that great terrestrial mother to await the day when all flesh is to arise. The bereaved relatives express their high appreciation of all the acts of kindness and sympathy extended to them by neighbors and friends. May the benevolent Father soothe their grief and enable them to bear with Christian resignation the sacrifice that in turn is asked of us, each and all.
