Mrs. John Huyser and Peter Vork, died at the Zehm ranch home north of the city Saturday, aged 93 years and 11 months. Rev. A. A. Holbeck conducted the funeral service at the Lutheran church Tuesday afternoon, burial being in Mountain View cemetery. Walvoord, Gerrit Scholten, Guy Scholten, and Lars Wesland. Deceased was a native of Kollan, Netherlands born April 21, 1842. In 1865 he married Miss Etta Kamminga, and to this union, four children were born. In 1881 the family came to the United States and resided three years in Iowa where two of the children passed away. They then moved to Edmunds N. D., making a home there for 11 years. When Rev. Andrew Wormser organized his colony north of this city he went into North Dakota for settlers, Mr. Sikema being one of the first to arrive, in 1896, and had since lived in the settlement. His wife passed away on June 9, 1909. In 1911 he married Mrs. Fanny Vork, who preceded him in death several years ago. He was a farmer by occupation and training, an active member of the colony until forced to retire by old age. He was highly respected by all neighbors and friends.
