Description	:	Andrew, Anna, Mary, Charles E.,(Twins) Louisa/Lovisa , Amelia, Nathaniel Jr.,and Sarah were children of Nathaniel and Sarah Tyler Kent, daughter of Timothy and Lucy Beeman Tyler. Lovisa lived out her life with her daughter Ellen. I wonder once leaving one's parents and siblings to cross this once great land of America, how many of those people never set eyes on their parents or siblings again? The Burr Oak Herald Burr Oak, KS Thursday, August 1, 1907 1907 Aug Jewell Co KS Lovisa Woodard, nee Kent, was born at Middletown, Delaware county, New York, March 31, 1820; died at the home of her daughter, Mrs. Mary Stryker, in Northbranch, Kansas, July 26, 1907; aged 87 years 3 months and 25 days. She was united in marriage to Ambrose Woodard January 9th 1842, and moved from York state to Illinois in 1854, first settling in the vicinity of Polo and later on at Sterling, where they resided until 1889, when her husband died, after which she moved with her children, first in Iowa and later on coming to Northbranch, Kansas. where she resided with her daughter until her death which occurred on the above named date. She was a member of the Dunker Brethern church; was converted in youth and was always ready to testify to the goodness of God. During her last illness she seemed, at times, to live in the Glory world. She bore her affliction with great Christian fortitude and her passing, from this to that better home beyond, was gentle as a summer breeze. She leaves an aged sister, (Amelia?) five sons and four daughters; namely Sarah E. King, and Levi Woodard of Illinois, Addison B. Woodard of Crocus, North Dakota, a minister of the Brethern Church, Mary L. Stryker of Kansas, Geo. F.Woodard of Michigan, Fidelia Herrick of Nebraska, Ambrose Woodard of Oregon, Ella Pollack of Idaho and Lincoln Woodard of Iowa. The funeral services were conducted by Elder J.R. Garber assisted by Elder Eli Renner and Rev B.F. Hester of the Wesleyan Methodist church, who visited her and often prayed with her during her illness. She was followed to the grave by a large concourse of friends, willing to show their last tribute of respect to one they all all learned to love. The childen have lost a good mother, but we are glad to know that they can have assurance of meeting her again in that better land beyond.
