Description	:	Lowell E. Oyler, 95, passed away at Wesleyan Health Care on November 22, 2017. He was born on August 9, 1922 to the late Reed and Christina (Petterson) Oyler. Lowell was a 1940 graduate of Sweetser High School. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army and served as military police in Washington. He served honorably until his discharge in 1946. Lowell... Read More	Lowell E. Oyler, 95, passed away at Wesleyan Health Care on November 22, 2017. He was born on August 9, 1922 to the late Reed and Christina (Petterson) Oyler. Lowell was a 1940 graduate of Sweetser High School. In 1942 he enlisted in the United States Army and served as military police in Washington. He served honorably until his discharge in 1946. Lowell worked as a farmer prior to working 30 years as a receiving clerk for Anaconda Wire and Cable. In November 1947 he married Betty J. Johnson. She preceded him in death on February 25, 2015. Lowell was a member of the Woodlawn United Methodist Church, he was a fifty plus year member of the Masonic Lodge of LaFontaine, Eastern Star and the American Legion, Lagro for twenty-five years. Lowell enjoyed watching the Chicago Cubs, and basketball, in particular IU, Purdue and Notre Dame. He also liked to work in the yard and he continued doing so until the age of 91. Lowell is survived by his children, Cynthia (Bill) Mullinix, Converse; Rebecca Clark, Somerset, grandchildren, David (Lisa) Foy, Michael (Cristy) Mullinix, Valerie Jivery (Robert Watkins); great grandchildren, Jakobe Mullinix; Breighton Mullinix, Chaz Foy, Elizabeth Jivery, Madison Jivery, Allison Jivery, John (Ashley) Williams; great-great grandchildren, Hunter Williams, Elliana Williams; several nieces and nephews. He is also preceded in death by his brothers, Lewis, Myron, Maurice and Paul; grandson, Matthew Clark; great granddaughter, Abbigail C. Mullinix. funeral service will be at 1 pm on November 28, 2017 in Converse Church of Christ, 301 East Wabash Street, Converse, Indiana, with Pastor John Clark officiating. Burial, with military honors will immediately follow at Mississinewa Cemetery, Somerset, Indiana. will be held on Tuesday from 11 until the time of service in the church.
