He lived his entire life in Fremont and was a graduate of Fremont High School. He was a driver for Fairmont Foods and Roberts Dairy for a total of 44 years, retiring in 1990. He was a member of First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont and a member of FOE #200 of Fremont for over 50 years and was a trustee and in their camping club. He is survived by daughters, Patricia and husband, Dennis Jepsen of Schleswig, Iowa and Karen and husband, Scott Berner of Fremont; sons, Michael and wife, Marilouise Mattson of Fayetteville, New York, David and wife, Rita Mattson of Valrico, Florida, Kevin and wife, Cindy Mattson of Poway, California and Charles and wife, Maria Mattson of Clayton, North Carolina; seventeen grandchildren and eighteen great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, June; and brother, Wayne Mattson. Memorial service will be 10:30 A.M., Tuesday, August 18, 2015 at First Congregational Church, U.C.C. in Fremont. The Rev. David Paul will officiate. Memorial visitation with family receiving friends will be Monday, August 17, 2015 from 4 PM to 7 PM at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont. Interment will be at the First Congregational Church Niche. Memorials may be directed to First Congregational Church, U.C.C." Moser Memorial Chapel, 2170 N. Somers Ave., Fremont, NE 68025.
