He was born in Council Bluffs, on December 15, 1930, to the late Charles E. and Mary L. (Sheahan) O'Neill. Loyd was a farmer and had also been a longtime employee at the Omaha Stockyards. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his sons, Daniel O'Neill and Robert O'Neill; brothers, Harold O'Neill and Donald O'Neill; sister, Alice Wakehouse. Loyd is survived by his wife of 64 years, Margaret O'Neill; daughters and sons-in-law, Pam and Kevin Ring, Kathy and Richard Mayer Sr., Connie and Roy Mocha; Julie and Gary Nelson; daughter-in-law, Norma O'Neill; special friend, Judy Strohmyer; sisters-in-law, Thelma O'Neill and Kathryn Feekin; 22 grandchildren; 46 great grandchildren; nieces, nephews and a host of other family and friends. Visitation is Sunday, 2 to 4 p.m., at the Hoy-Kilnoski Funeral Home. Funeral service is Monday, 10 a.m., at the funeral home. Interment is in St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Neola. Memorials are suggested to the Neola Fire Department or Lewis Township Fire Department.
