Description	:	Fietta K. Rosenberger completed her education in nursing at the Henry Ford Hospital School of Nursing at Detroit, Michigan in 1928. She later enrolled in the New Haven School of Physical Therapy, at the University of Connecticut in 1931, where she received her certification and license as a registered physical therapist. She was commissioned as a 2nd Lt. in the U.S. Army Nurse Corps in 1941. Lt. Rosenberger was a veteran of World War II and served for more than 20 years as a nurse administrator. Her tours of duty included: Chief of nursing services at Stewart Field, West Point; the 81st General Hospital at Fort Campbell; in Occupied Japan (1948) at the 28th General Hospital, Osaka; and at Fort McClellan. She saw service in Europe closing down the nursing units at many military hospitals. During the Korean War, she was the orthopedic supervisor at the Letterman General Hospital in San Francisco. She then served as the procurement officer at the Headquarters of the 6th Army in California where she was selected to attend the first administrative class of the Medical Field Service School at Fort Sam Houston, Texas. She retired with the rank of Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army in 1962. She was a member of Grace Lutheran Church where she served as president of the Lutheran Church Women. She was also a volunteer for the American Red Cross bloodmobiles, and a vice-regent of the Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Fort Loudoun Chapter. Her hobbies were opera, baseball, and poker. Miss Rosenberger was an outstanding family genealogist and her work was published twice in the The Virginia Genealogist magazine. Fietta's main volume of study, "Jacob Rosenberger, Son of Erasmus Rosenberger and his descendants", is still eminently respected these many years later for its precise detail and her impeccable research methodology. She was born October 7, 1905 in Frederick County, the daughter of Charles M. and Jeannette Rosenberger. Her brothers were William Henry, Robert Smith, Thomas Boyd, and Richard Jacob. In her youth, she attended various schools in the area and was a 1925 graduate of John Handley High School. Fietta passed away at the age of 94, in March of 2000, at the Lutheran Nursing Home, Rockville, MD. She was the last member of her immediate family. Her funeral was held at Grace Lutheran Church and was officiated by the Rev. Dr. James H. Utt and Pastor Jeffrey May. She was buried in the St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery on a Saturday next to her father; the pallbearers were her nephews. Fietta's grand father (Rev. W.J. Smith) and uncle (Rev. E.B.
