She was born May 17, 1921 in Adams Township, Defiance County, Ohio to the late William and Clara (Bachaus) Bremer. On September 18, 1943 she married Burr Shumaker and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2000. Lucille was a former receptionist at Standard Metal, Malinta and during World War II she made small metal aircraft parts in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Malinta. She was an avid reader, bird watcher and instant lottery ticket... Read More	Lucille C. Shumaker, 89, of Malinta, Ohio died Sunday, January 9, 2011 at Henry County Hospital, Napoleon, Ohio. She was born May 17, 1921 in Adams Township, Defiance County, Ohio to the late William and Clara (Bachaus) Bremer. On September 18, 1943 she married Burr Shumaker and he preceded her in death on July 25, 2000. Lucille was a former receptionist at Standard Metal, Malinta and during World War II she made small metal aircraft parts in Fort Wayne, Indiana. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, Malinta. She was an avid reader, bird watcher and instant lottery ticket scratcher. She enjoyed watching sports, especially the Detroit Tigers. She loved gardening and mowing her lawn with her John Deere lawnmower. Lucille was always very generous in giving to mail solicitations she received for the needy and less fortunate. She is survived by children; Dennis Shumaker, Tucson, Arizona; Janine (Tom) Reimund, Malinta; Cindy (Randy) Shumaker-Warren, Freeland, Michigan; grandsons, Michael Shumaker, Inverness, Florida; Douglas (Michele) Shumaker, Huron, Ohio; brothers, Donald (Lorna) Bremer, Napoleon and William (Bert) Bremer, Defiance, Ohio and several nieces and nephews. She was also preceded in death by sisters, Hilda Mix, Pauline Sutter, Irma Ovehulse and brother, Edgar Bremer. Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon. Interment will follow at Forest Hill Cemetery, Napoleon. Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Wednesday and from 10-11 a.m. on Thursday at Rodenberger Funeral Home, Napoleon, Ohio. The family suggests memorials to Trinity Lutheran Church, Henry County Meals on Wheels or a charity of the donor's choice.
