Description	:	Mrs. R. S. Brown, who has been so sick for some time past with cancer of the stomach, died at her home northeast of Strang at 6:30 o’clock Thursday morning. Her maiden name was Lucretia Alteberry and she was born in Macon County, Ill., September 11, 1854. She was married to Reuben S. Brown in Macon City in 1871 and in 1887, they moved to Colby, Kansas, and later to Fillmore County, Nebr. Brown, who has been so sick for some time past with cancer of the stomach, died at her home northeast of Strang at 6:30 o’clock Thursday morning. Her maiden name was Lucretia Alteberry and she was born in Macon County, Ill., September 11, 1854. She was married to Reuben S. Brown in Macon City in 1871 and in 1887, they moved to Colby, Kansas, and later to Fillmore County, Nebr. Thirteen children were born to this union, eleven of whom are living and were at her bedside at the time of her death. She was a member of the U. B. Church of Strang and a good worker for the cause; a kind and most loving mother, a devoted wife and a kind neighbor, loved by all who knew her. At the time of her death she was 51 years, 7 months and 23 days old. The funeral was conducted from the home on Friday afternoon, and interment made in the Geneva Cemetery, to which place a large concourse of friends and neighbors attended. Beside the husband and children who reside here, there were present as follows: Mrs. Dora Thulin of Huntley, Roy and Roscoe Brown of Holdrege, Mrs. F. R. Blincow, of Oxford, Mrs. R. Blincow of Colby, Kansas, John Brown, of Sioux Falls, S. D., Mesdames, Belle Brown and Elizabeth Mallory, Tom Mallory, Aaron and Lafe Brown all of Edgar.
