Description	:	Lucretia Merrill, second daughter of Hiram H. and Margaret Merrill, was born at Broadwell, Illinois, July 12th, 1873, and departed this life at her home east of Nelson, January 16th, 1930. In 1879 her parents came to Nebraska locating on a farm near Nelson, where she grew to womanhood. On August 18, 1898, she was united in marriage with Ernest C. Rennick and spent the remainder of her life in Nelson and vicinity. Read More	Lucretia Merrill, second daughter of Hiram H. and Margaret Merrill, was born at Broadwell, Illinois, July 12th, 1873, and departed this life at her home east of Nelson, January 16th, 1930. In 1879 her parents came to Nebraska locating on a farm near Nelson, where she grew to womanhood. On August 18, 1898, she was united in marriage with Ernest C. Rennick and spent the remainder of her life in Nelson and vicinity. Early in life she accepted Christ as her Saviour and united with the Methodist church at Nora, transferring to Edgar, and later to Nelson, where she held her membership at the time of her death. Her life was one of devoted service to her home, her friends, and any one who needed help was never turned away. For several years her failing health had confined her to her bed much of the time, yet she was always cheerful, patient and thoughtful of others' comfort and never complained of her lot and was an inspiration in her home and to every one she came in contact with. She was a devoted wife, and kind and loving mother and a real friend. Her parents and two sisters, Mrs. M. Lettie Nelson and Mrs. Bernice Marlinee, preceded her in death. She leaves to mourn her departure, her husband, two daughters, Mrs. Vhelma Troudt and Mrs. Hazel Klugherz, and two grandchildren all of Nelson; a sister, Mrs. Della M. Hedgcock of Washington, D.C., and an adopted brother, Gordon Merrill of Nora, Nebraska, and a host of friends. How blessed to rest when the journey is over, To meet all the loved ones on you (sic) peaceful shore; To sing the glad songs of our Blessed Redeemer, And praise Him, where sorrow is known never more. The funeral was held from the Methodist church in Nelson Sunday afternoon at 2:30 o'clock, with Rev. W.B. Zimmerman conducting the service. The Nelson Gazette, Thursday, January 23, 1930; pg. 2
