Description	:	Ernest Clyden Rennick, son of Thomas J. and Lettie Rennick, was born at Toulon, Stark county (sic), Illinois, December 5, 1875, and passed away from his home in Nelson, September 26, 1946, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 21 days. When he was about four years of age his parents brought him from Illinois to Nebraska and settled on a farm two miles north and three east of Nelson, and here he grew to manhood. Read More	Ernest Clyden Rennick, son of Thomas J. and Lettie Rennick, was born at Toulon, Stark county (sic), Illinois, December 5, 1875, and passed away from his home in Nelson, September 26, 1946, at the age of 70 years, 9 months and 21 days. When he was about four years of age his parents brought him from Illinois to Nebraska and settled on a farm two miles north and three east of Nelson, and here he grew to manhood. His first home in Nebraska was a dugout. On August 18, 1898, he was united in marriage to Miss Lucretia Merrill at the home near Nelson. To this union two daughters were born, Mrs. Vhelmae Laurine Troudt and Mrs. Hazel Ladell Klugherz, both of Boise, Idaho. His wife Lucretia passed away January 16, 1930. On October 21, 1931, he was united in marriage to Miss Edna A. Wilkins of Nelson. He followed the trade of a carpenter for about five years, and then he formed a partnership with George Jackson in the implement business here in Nelson. In 1920 he moved to the farm five miles east of Nelson where he lived until about two months before his death, when he moved into Nelson. His great joy was working with machinery, but he enjoyed being out in the field sowing the seed or reaping the ripened grain. He enjoyed his neighbors and cultivated their friendship. He enjoyed his home, his children and his grandchildren. He joined the Methodist church (sic) in the year 1917 under the pastorate of Rev. W.W. Hull. He was grateful for the Holy Word of God and recognized that every good and perfect gift came from God. He knew that God for Christ's sake had forgiven his sins. He came through the Valley and shadow of death fearing no evil, for christ was with him. In his going he leaves besides his two daughters, his wife Edna, five grandchildren, and one great granddaughter. Also one brother, Onnie Rennick of Nelson. One brother preceded him in death. Another fine old settler has left this community for a better land. Here he had no continuing city but now he has found the City Four Square, whose builder and maker is God. The funeral services were held at the Methodist church (sic) at 2:30 Sunday afternoon with Rev. and Mrs. Clarence V. Powell in charge. Music was furnished by a quartet: Mrs. Arbor Ferebee, Mr. and Mrs. James F. Murphy and Lowell Powell. Mrs. H.H. Hite presided at the piano. The pallbearers were: Will and Charlie Youngs, Richard Hertel, Ora Brown, Davis Smith and Selby Howard. The body was laid to rest in the Nelson cemetery (sic). CARD OF THANKS. We wish to thank all our friends and neigbhors for their words of comfort and deeds of kindness at the time of the death of our husband and father. Mrs. Edna Rennick, Mr. and Mrs. Wm.
