Chaput of this city, died at St. Joseph's hospital in Concordia last Friday evening about 5 o'clock, after a brief illness. Mrs. Chaput was stricken with appendicitis a few days before and was taken to the hospital where she was treated, but the appendix had become ruptured and peritonitis developed. The deceased was quite well known in Clyde, having visited frequently at the home of her son. Mrs. Chaput, whose maiden name was Lucy Goyette, was born at Kankakee, Ill., in 1871. When a girl of three years, she came with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. William Goyette, to a farm near Aurora. She married at Aurora to George Chaput and to them twelve children were born, one son preceding his mother in death. Surviving are her husband, George Chaput, eleven children: Mrs. Francis Bombardier, Concordia; Mrs. Leo Bombardier, Jamestown; Emery Chaput, Aurora; Meddie Chaput, Clyde; Leon Chaput, Aurora, Paul Chaput, Concordia; Alex, Joe, John, and Regina, all of the home, and Sister Alphonse Marie of the order of St. Joseph. Her aged father, William Goyette, of Aurora, also survives; and four brothers, Ed, Will Goyette of Aurora and Charles and Alex Goyette of California, and one sister, Mrs. Antone Bombardier of Puyallup, Washington. Mrs. Chaput's life was devoted to the interests and care of her family, where she was an unselfish and beloved mother and wife. Her death, which was unexpected, was a shock to her family and friends. Funeral services were held Monday morning at 9 o'clock at the Catholic Church at Aurora.
