Description	:	Mrs. Ruth Edwards Glass, 88, of Cana, died Saturday, Jan. 31, 2015, at Trinity Mission Nursing Facility in Hillsville. She was born Sept. 2, 1926, to the late Howard Handy Edwards and Clemmie Pruitt Edwards. She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Roy Mayes of Cana; sons and daughter-in-law, William Howard "Bill" and Betty Glass of Cana, Paul Douglas Glass of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Willie Paul Glass of Mount Airy, Terry Mayes, Dale Mayes, Eric Mayes and Tony Glass, all of Cana, Crystal Edwards of Galax, and Tim Glass of Mount Airy; great-grandchildren, Brandy Atkins of Mount... She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Peggy and Roy Mayes of Cana; sons and daughter-in-law, William Howard "Bill" and Betty Glass of Cana, Paul Douglas Glass of Mount Airy; grandchildren, Willie Paul Glass of Mount Airy, Terry Mayes, Dale Mayes, Eric Mayes and Tony Glass, all of Cana, Crystal Edwards of Galax, and Tim Glass of Mount Airy; great-grandchildren, Brandy Atkins of Mount Airy, Brandon, Tyler, Ashton and Bradley Mayes, all of Cana, Nathan, Mckenzie and Owen Edwards, all of Galax, and Christie Glass of Mount Airy; great-great-grandchildren, Logan and Cayden Talbert of Mount Airy, Payton and McKenzie Atkins of Mount Airy and Chet, and Layne Mayes of Cana; sister, Lena E. Childress of Mount Airy; son-in-law, Carl Busick of Cana; sister-in-law, Ethelene Edwards of Winston- Salem, North Carolina; a very special niece, Debbie Boles of Mount Airy; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Glass was preceded in death by her husband, Willie E. Glass; daughter, Ann Glass Busick; brother, Everette "Tom" Edwards; and sister, Katie Lou Cooke. The family will receive friends Monday, Feb. 2, 2015, from noon to 2 p.m. at the home, 40 Shady Acres Drive, Cana, VA 24317. A private funeral service for family only will follow the visitation, conducted by the Rev. Jack Anderson with interment to follow in the Glass Family Memorial Cemetery. Flowers will be accepted, or memorials may be made to Alzheimer's Association National Office, 225 N. Michigan Ave., Fl 17, Chicago, IL 60601.
