Dau, 98, of Scribner is 11 a.m. Thursday at United Lutheran Church in Scribner. she died Tuesday, Aug. 14, 2001, at Good Samaritan Center in Scribner. Luella Schwein was born Aug. 31, 1902, in Arlington. She was a descendant of one of Scribner's pioneer familiies. Her grandparents, George and Anna Schwein, were founding members of St. Peter's Lutheran Church in 1884. She attended school in Scribner. She married Edward J. Dau Jan. 4, 1936, in Omaha. she had lived in Scribner since her marriage in 1936. She was a beauty operator until her marriage and then was a homemaker on the farm with her husband. her spouse died June 22, 1980. She was a member of United Lutheran Church in Scribner and was a member of the choir at church for many years. Survivors include two sisters, Hertha (Mrs. Adolph) Karel of Pilger and Ruth (Mrs. William) Nicholson of Omaha. she was also preceded in death by two sisters. The Rev. Susan Butler will officiate Thursday's service. visitation is 3-9 p.m. today at Spear-Johnson funeral home in Scribner. Burial will be in Scribner Cemetery in Scribner. A memorial has been established to United Lutheran Church.
