She was born on September 1, 1915, in Luverne, Minnesota, to Ole and Ragnild Remme. She grew up on the farm near Kenneth, Minnesota, with seven brothers and sisters. She was united in marriage to Martin G. Kuker on November 20, 1936. They farmed north of Pocahontas, Iowa, for 56 years. Martin passed away in December of 1983. KUKER, 84, passed away on Tuesday, May 23, 2000, at the Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Spirit Lake, Iowa. She was born on September 1, 1915, in Luverne, Minnesota, to Ole and Ragnild Remme. She grew up on the farm near Kenneth, Minnesota, with seven brothers and sisters. She was united in marriage to Martin G. Kuker on November 20, 1936. They farmed north of Pocahontas, Iowa, for 56 years. Martin passed away in December of 1983. Luella was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America and sang in the choir at the Pocahontas Resurrection of Our Lord Catholic Church. She moved to Okoboji, Iowa, in 1993. She was active at St. Joseph Catholic Church and attended Dinner Date at the Senior Citizens Center. She enjoyed playing cards, bingo and attended weekly Bible Study. One of her great loves was to make homemade goodies for her family and friends. Luella was preceded in death by her husband, Martin; her parents; her brothers, Selmer and Howard; her sister Gladys, Alice and Pearl; and a son-in-law, Roger Tinius. She is survived by her five children, Mary Wimer, and her husband, John of Mansfield, OH; Carol Sernett, and her husband, Paul of Laurens, IA; Charles Kuker, and his wife, Helen of Owen, Wisconsin; David Kuker, and his wife, Linda of Okoboji, IA; and Bernadette Tadlock, and her husband, Jeff of Sioux City, IA. She is also survived by twenty grandchildren and twenty-three great grandchildren. Services were held on Friday, May 26, 2000 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in Milford, IA. Officiant: Father James Bruch. Pianist: Lorena Sernett. Organist: Wynette More. Cantor: John Moore, Jennifer Reis, Pam Heitz and Bernadette Tadlock. Lector: Michael Kloenne. Pallbearers: Luella's twelve grandsons: Michael & James Tinius; Mark, Dan, Jeff and Scott Sernett; David Jr. and Brad Kuker; Adam, Jason and Gregory Kuker; Colin Tadlock. Honorary Pallbearers: Luella's Eight Granddaughters: Pam Heitz, Jennifer Reis, Angela Kloenne, Lorena Sernett, Celena Kuker, Kim Krienert, Keri Kuker and Kristin Tadlock.
