Description	:	The Vermillion Times Thursday, May 15, 1941 Luisetta Wright the daughter of Charles and Elizabeth Wright was born on November 2, 1844 in Northampton county, Pennsylvania and passed away at the home of her daughter Mrs. Henry James near Vermillion, Kansas on May 7, 1941, having reached the age of 96 years 6 months and 5 days. On May 15, 1865 she was married to Daniel Harrison Smith. Their home was established in Northampton county where eight children were born. In 1879 the family moved to Kansas and settled on a farm near Vermillion. Later Mr. and Mrs. Smith moved into Vermillion in 1902 where Mr. Smith died in 1912. Of the eight children two... On May 15, 1865 she was married to Daniel Harrison Smith. Their home was established in Northampton county where eight children were born. In 1879 the family moved to Kansas and settled on a farm near Vermillion. Later Mr. and Mrs. Smith moved into Vermillion in 1902 where Mr. Smith died in 1912. Of the eight children two died in infancy. Those that survive are five sons and one daughter, Alfred, Wayne, Nebraska, Wilson of the home Elmer, Vermillion, Kansas, Thomas, of Frankfort, Kansas, Charles W. of Santa Monica, California, Vestilla Elizabeth Jessee, Centralia; 11 grandchildren, 45 great-grandchildren and 13 great- great-grandchildren. As a child Mrs. Smith was confirmed in the Lutheran Reformed church in Pennsylvania. In 1891 she became a member of the Presbyterian church of Vermillion. Mrs. Smith was a member of the Ladies of the G.A.R. when they had an organization here and she was the last Civil War widow in this community Funeral services were held in the Presbyterian Church in Vermillion on Friday afternoon May 9 with Reverend Dean Stephens officiating. Interment was in the Vermillion Cemetery.
