Description	:	from Van Buren County Democrat : " Lula Needham Hammett, 100, died Thursday, February 7, 2002. She was born September 19, 1901; she was the daughter of the late George Needham and Nancy Rains Needham, who came to Formosa from Tennessee and Texas and homesteaded 160 acres. She was a member of Formosa Church of Christ, and had been a Formosa resident all her life, except for a few years spent in Morrilton. Read More	from Van Buren County Democrat : " Lula Needham Hammett, 100, died Thursday, February 7, 2002. She was born September 19, 1901; she was the daughter of the late George Needham and Nancy Rains Needham, who came to Formosa from Tennessee and Texas and homesteaded 160 acres. She was a member of Formosa Church of Christ, and had been a Formosa resident all her life, except for a few years spent in Morrilton. She was the last of that generation of her large family, and also of her late husband's family. She and Thomas Reed Hammett were married for 51 years and had six children, three of whom survive; daughters, Macel Williams, DeLane Story, and Jo Ann Hancock, and a daughter-in-law, Peggy Hammett. Other survivors include ten grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren Friends and family celebrated her life at services held Saturday, February 9 at Formosa Church of Christ with Jimmy Duncan officiating. Interment was at Union Hill Cemetery under the direction of Roller-McNutt of Clinton. Active pallbearers were grandsons Ronald Williams, Stanley Williams, Wesley Williams, Hal Hammett, David Story and John McClure. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to the Formosa Community Organization, c/o Kay Ross, 607 Baker Lake Rd., Clinton, AR 72031."
